TELEMATIC TRIO

WORKING TITLE- ON GOING PROJECT

Telematic Trio is an interactive media performance work that allows three performers, in three separate spaces to communicate with each other, while creating a fourth virtual space of processed images.

The work has dual aims: in the real world, it distributes the stage space between three distinct spaces and allows the audience to explore each of these spaces and individual performers. In the digital space, the audience experiences a re-processing and re-configuring of both the texture of the performing bodies and the recorded performance space, continually altering our perspective on each artistic element.

The work is capable of being staged in a variety of different locations and contexts, from separate rooms, different galleries in a museum, one large space (eg. a dance club) and can be seen as a purely visual art and movement experience, or with different sound/musical elements.

In 2014, it was originally performed as part of "Sullivant Travels" at the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio and was staged to allow the audience to visit the three different locations/sites of each performer. The fourth digital space consisted of a large screen projection shown without any sound.

In 2016, as a part of a creative research laboratory at La Mama’s CultureHub studio, the work incorporated a sound score by composer John King which allowed for live singers to interact with each of the three dancers.
